Furniture Assembly

Furniture Assembly and Disassembly in the DMV

Flat-pack furniture is designed to be assembled, and it is still the reason a lot of Saturdays disappear. We build beds, desks, dressers, shelving, wardrobes, cribs and office furniture, and we take the same things apart when you are moving. From $89 for a standard item.

Furniture Assembly and Disassembly — Teachers Who Move

Assembly

We work from the manufacturer’s instructions, use the supplied hardware, check that everything sits square and level, and tighten in the right order so a piece does not rack. Packaging is broken down and stacked for your building’s recycling. If a part is missing or damaged in the box — which happens more often than the manufacturers would like — we will tell you exactly what to order rather than improvising a fix that fails in six months.

Disassembly for a move

Bed frames, table legs, sectional connectors, shelving units and modular wardrobes usually have to come apart to leave a room. We bag and label every piece of hardware to the item it belongs to, which is the single thing that most often goes wrong when people do this themselves the night before a move.

Wall mounting and what we will not do

Anti-tip brackets that come with a dresser or bookcase are part of assembling it correctly, and we fit them. Mounting televisions, floating shelves or heavy cabinets to a wall is a different job with different risk — ask us and we will tell you honestly whether it is something we take on, rather than drilling into a wall we have not assessed.

Who this is for

  • Anyone with a flat-pack box that has been in the hallway for three weeks
  • People furnishing a new apartment after a move
  • Customers moving who need beds and tables taken apart safely
  • Home-office setups
  • Anyone who would rather not lose a weekend to an allen key

What is included

  • Assembly or disassembly of standard flat-pack furniture
  • Hardware organized, bagged and labeled
  • Anti-tip brackets fitted where supplied with the item
  • Packaging broken down and stacked for your building’s disposal

What is not included

  • The furniture itself, or replacement parts
  • Wall or ceiling mounting unless approved in advance
  • Electrical, plumbing or gas work
  • Repairs to damaged or missing components

How it works

  1. Send the item list

Model names or links are ideal — a wardrobe and a nightstand are very different builds.

  2. Get your price

Standard items are priced flat; multiple or complex items get a custom quote.

  3. Approve in writing

With the time window and the price confirmed.

  4. We build or break down

    And leave the space tidy.

Property types we work in

  • Apartments and condos
  • Rowhouses
  • Single-family homes
  • Home offices

Equipment we bring

  • Power drivers with clutch control and hand tools
  • Levels and squares
  • Rubber mallets and furniture pads
  • Hardware bags and labels

Safety

  • Anti-tip hardware supplied with a dresser or bookcase is fitted, not left in the bag.
  • We do not force a joint or substitute hardware — a piece assembled wrong is a piece that fails later.
  • Cribs and children’s furniture are assembled strictly to the manufacturer’s instructions or not at all.
  • Crew members complete moving, lifting, equipment and customer-service training before accepting assignments.

Questions

Furniture Assembly — frequently asked

How long does a typical item take?

A nightstand or small desk is under an hour. A bed frame with storage drawers or a large wardrobe can take two to three hours. We will tell you the realistic window when we quote.

What if a part is missing from the box?

We will identify the exact part number so you can request a replacement from the manufacturer. We will not substitute hardware or improvise a fix on a load-bearing joint.

Can you mount my TV on the wall?

Ask us first. Wall mounting depends on the wall construction and the mount, and it is not something we take on sight-unseen.

Can you assemble at the end of a move?

Yes, and adding it to a move booking is usually cheaper than scheduling a separate visit.
