Community impact

Moving homes. Supporting teachers.

Teachers Who Move puts $20 from every completed move toward classroom supplies and direct support for local teachers in the DMV. It comes out of what we earn on the job, never added to a customer’s bill. As the business grows, so does our ability to support educators and students in our community.

Every counter on this page only moves when a move is genuinely completed. We will not put a number here that we cannot point at a real job for.

We name each school-support partner here once the support is actually in place.

How it works

From a completed move to a classroom

  1. You complete a move

The contribution is triggered when a job is marked complete, not when a quote is requested.

  2. We log the contribution

Every completed move adds $20 to the committed total, tracked in our system rather than estimated.

  3. The funds go to teachers and classrooms

Directed toward classroom supplies and direct support for educators and students in the DMV — the things teachers currently buy out of their own pockets.

  4. We report what actually happened

The counters on this page only move when a real move is completed. We publish what was funded, and where, rather than a rounded-up total.

What this is, and what it is not

Teachers Who Move is a for-profit business, not a nonprofit organization. Payments you make to us are payments for moving services, and neither your payment nor our $20 contribution is tax-deductible for you. We are not currently claiming charitable status, and we will not describe this commitment as anything other than what it is: a business setting aside money from each completed job to support local teachers and buy supplies for their classrooms.

Are you a DMV school or teacher?

We are looking for our first school-support partner. If you are an educator or school staff member in Washington, DC, Northern Virginia or Maryland and you would like to talk about how this could help your classroom, get in touch.

We will not name a school, district or partner on this website without their written permission, and we will not describe a relationship that does not exist.
