Arlington, VA Movers for High-Rises, Garden Apartments and Small Homes

Arlington is a county of two very different moving jobs. Along the Rosslyn–Ballston corridor and in National Landing you are working with towers: reserved freight elevators, garage loading bays with height limits and a certificate of insurance the concierge wants on file. South and west of there, garden apartments and single-family streets mean stairs, driveways and a much simpler day. We work both, in the evenings and at weekends.

Seven days a week, 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, subject to your building’s permitted move hours and elevator reservation.

High-rise moves along the Orange and Silver Line corridor

Rosslyn, Court House, Clarendon, Virginia Square and Ballston are dense with mid- and high-rise apartment buildings, and their move procedures are the most consequential detail of your booking. Expect to reserve a freight elevator in a fixed window, to load from an interior garage bay rather than the street, and to be asked for documentation before a crew is allowed up. Two things are worth checking yourself: the posted clearance height of the garage entrance, and whether the reserved window is two hours or four. A cargo van clears almost every residential garage in the county; a rental box truck often does not, which is a good reason to consider van-and-crew over labor-only if you live in a tower.

Garden apartments, Columbia Pike and the older stock

Columbia Pike, Arlington Ridge, Glebe and much of South Arlington are garden-apartment country: two- and three-storey buildings, exterior or single-interior staircases, no elevator and usually decent surface parking close to the door. These are straightforward moves, and the estimate is driven almost entirely by which floor you are on. A third-floor walk-up genuinely takes about an hour longer than a ground-floor unit of the same size, which is why we ask.

North Arlington houses and the small-move reality

Lyon Village, Cherrydale, Westover, Waverly Hills and Arlington Forest are mostly single-family and semi-detached homes with driveways — the easiest parking in the county. Many of our bookings here are not whole-house moves at all: a Marketplace sofa delivered from Falls Church, a basement rearranged, one room packed before a bigger move, or furniture assembled after a delivery. Those are exactly the jobs the big companies price out of reach.

What we can do in Arlington, VA

Local questions

Moving in Arlington, VA — frequently asked

Do Arlington high-rises require a certificate of insurance?

Many do. Ask your building manager exactly what they require and send it to us during the quote process. We will tell you plainly what we can document today rather than promising paperwork we cannot produce.

How long is a typical elevator reservation?

It varies by building — commonly two to four hours. Tell us your window and we will plan the sequence around it, because a two-hour window changes how we stage a load.

Will your van fit in my building’s garage?

A cargo van clears most residential garages in Arlington. Check the posted height at the entrance and tell us the number. If clearance is tight, we load from the street or the dock instead.

Can you move me from a third-floor walk-up on Columbia Pike?

Yes. Stairs beyond the first flight add $20 per flight, and we plan for roughly an extra hour on a third-floor one-bedroom compared with a ground-floor unit.

Do you do Marketplace pickups in Arlington?

Regularly. Send the listing and both addresses and we will quote it — delivery starts at $149.
